DescriptionAN EXCELLENTLY DETAILED AND RICH PAGE BY JULIE. THIS PAGE SHOWS HOW GREAT SHE IS AS BOTH AN ILLUSTRATOR AND STORYTELLER. THANKS JULIE!Julie Doucet was educated first at an all-girl's Catholic school, then studied fine arts at Cégep du Vieux Montréal and after at the Université du Québec à Montréal. Her university degree was in printing arts. She began cartooning in 1987. She was published in small-press comics and self-published her own comic called Dirty Plotte. She used the photocopied zine to record "her day to day life, her dreams, angsts, fantasies." It was when she was published in Weirdo, Robert Crumb's magazine that she began to attract critical attention. Her work also appeared in Wimmen's Comix, Heck!, Buzzard, and Rip-off Comix. This is probably one of the best comics Doucet has ever drawn. Congrats on acquiring this!

Oh man, what a great Julie Doucet page. She had "it" from a very early stage in her career and her work has only gotten better since. I'm envious!

The inks really shimmer on these in person, and the writing is so good. I actually got this one directly for her through a cold call email.
