Description

Knight's Cross, 16 1/2 x 13 1/2 (420 x 345). Published February 1976, then reprinted WPL1846 March 1981 and also New WPL 134. Me and my friend Edward Walker (who is also on this site) have been very luckly to have seen over 1000 Picture Library worksof art, and taken pictures of them. This last November (2011), armed with a laptop, we went to see the one of the last "British " Picture Library artist, Oliver Frey (he is from Switzerland). Ok I'm a fan of Graham Coton work.and Oliver was more keen to see Graham work than his own as he is a fan of Graham work also. We got to this picture and Oliver describe how wene haft way through the panting he figured out how Coton like this painting was, by the use of the single colour.See BPL 401 / WPM 7 " Advance " for Coton's best use of a single colour, or mine Let None Escape, The Patriot or even War Criminal. Ok its Pink but I don't see the colour. Note the damage to the tree, his right arm and down to the Tiger tank, this was done some time before it's second reprinting, see comic WPL 1846, this part of the artwork has not been repaired, as this was seen in print.
