Imagine yourself walking (or slogging) through a swamp when you suddenly come across this oddly shaped tree. Your staring at it for a few seconds when slowly it begins to turn, and now it is staring at you. I feel exactly that way when I look at this piece. This is the way I love to experience the Swamp Thing, quiet, still, and drawn buy the brilliant Bernie Wrightson.

Beautiful piece! Wrightson & Ploog were the King of the monsters in the 70's & still are! If I saw Swampthing or Man-Thing in a swamp. I'd be running across swamp water like the Flash! LOL

This Swamp Thing portrait is heartbreaking. It conveys horror, yes, but through sadness, and melancholy. When private commissions go so beautiful I pity the publishing world and public, that will never see them. Thanks for sharing.
