DescriptionMy first favorite artist growing up was Sal Buscema and I didn't even know it. In my youth Hulk, Defenders, Rom, Nova, these were the comics I gravitated to. I would reject a lot of other titles or these same titles if the art changed because they just didn't look right to me. The reason they didn't look right was they weren't drawn by Sal Buscema. Until I got older I never bothered to look at the name of the person drawing the comic and when I finally did, Sal Buscema was all over my collection.Sal opened his commission list and I was all over it. I had to have the Hulk and he knocked it out of the park. Thanks to Sal for making a big chunk of my youth so enjoyable and thanks to Al Czarnecki for being the go to guy with such great integrity. Oh wow this is one of Sal's nicest Hulks in the recent commissions. The man is a machine and keeps cranking out amazing artwork. Heartfelt congratulations on a piece that you should (and obviously are) extremely proud of.

I agree with Dave, this is one of Sal's best commissions in recent months! Look at that face! Awesome! Congrats!

Even before John Byrne, and Dale Keown, and Gary Frank, Sal Buscema's long run on the Hulk was my favorite. Especially the issues inked by the great Joe Staton. I love this piece. But what I really love was your story. Like you, I never really paid attention to the names of the people who wrote and drew the stories. And like you, I started gravitating toward certain signature styles. For you, it was Sal. For me, it was people like Gil Kane and Neal Adams. Anyway, congratulations on a great Hulk by Sal.

Sal's Hulk is the best, and this piece is a perfect example of just that!

Ha! I totally agree with your description- and I had the same experience (though I got Rom!). This is Hulk as I first saw him- Sal is as legendary as his brother for skill and if anything, he's UNDERrated! Great piece by a master!
