DescriptionSteve Dillon art from the very first page of Preacher! Preacher is one of the greatest comic books of all time! Garth Ennis has a way of making you love and feel for a character with all of your heart, turn the page and make you hate that same character with the fire, fury and intensity of a thousand suns. You might hate a character one second and feel sorry for them the next. This helped create one of the most complete and perfect stories I've ever read. stuff like this comes around very rarely and i think it's important to pass it on to new comic readers, just starting out, or people who have never touched a comic before. Books like this change comics and what they are capable of. I have also found that people on the outside of our comic community seem to have an unchangable opinion about what comics are, having never actually picked one up. They say things like, "comics? i don't like superheroes." Give these people Preacher. Give them Y The Last Man. Give them Planetary and Locke & Key. How can people still be so close minded about comic books, when incredible stories like this exist?! It's up to us, the passionate fans to keep this industry afloat. so dig up your first volume of Preacher and give it to someone you love... then make them buy the rest AT YOUR LOCAL COMIC SHOP!!sorry i don't have a scan, i will soon! i love how he cutout the dialog bubbles and added them afterwards. so cool seeing the process up close! Technically, American Express owns this piece at the moment. American Express are huge Comic art collectors from what i've heard... it sucks being broke with expensive hobbies. Social/Sharing |

Talk about expensive hobbies! I remember seeing this page at Anythony's Comic Book Art booth at the Boston CC last year with some crazy price. Very cool page, and from the first issue! Well worth it IMO!

Whoa! I have good memories of this page. I was reading Preacher for the first time during college, and I had to go to class. It was a night class, so I felt comfortable taking my trade with me and sitting in the back. When I flipped to this page, the teacher started talking, so it sat open on my desk for a while. The girl next to me kept glancing sideways at it, so I thought I'd switch the page to something less creepy looking while I waited until I could read again. I flipped the book randomly and ended up on the page where Genesis was... ahem... conceived. Needless to say, I closed the book after that, lest anyone think I were reading unholy pornography. Congrats on the purchase!
