DescriptionAmong my collection of comic art, one of the top three possessions is a Mike Grell Supergirl & Brainiac 5 page, from Superboy & The Legion Issue 204. That story and artist was my introduction to Legion. (The link shows it in all its glory. http://cafurl.com?i=19495 ). The Kara & Brainy relationship caught my imagination. which is why years later, that I finally did this series of commissions.This commission is special. First of course is by Mike Grell. Secondly, it is my two favorite Legionnaires but more importantly it was a gift from my friend Michael ( One Minute Later )Finn. There is a back-story to this, that is not mine to share, attached to that kind gesture, but suffice to say, it was totally unexpected and unnecessary, which of course, makes it all the more special. There are two inked versions of this. I love both and Russell did a great job but we had to settle on one ( Chris Ivy's ) for the main image. On this Thanksgiving Eve, it seemed appropriate to post this gem..I am thankful for this CAF site that has brought good friends & great art into my life. The theme we chose is "Love Is Stronger Than Death"..( a title & a truth, which honors the situation that Michael Finn & I dealt with ) where Brainy & Kara finally break free from the Time Trapper's Grip. That Finn is a stand up guy with very good taste in art gifts. All the personal connections make it that much better.

This is another outstanding Legion commission, this time by a legendary Legion artist. Bravo to both the great Michael Finn and to you for treating the Legion even better than DC Comics does.

Great commission and I love the evolution of the image. Of particular interest was seeing how Chris Ivy brought a whole new dimension to the commission.
