Description

Throughout the whole Infinite Timelines experience, I have been fortunate to have had some very talented artists create some wonderful pieces. It is hard to pick a favorite but this one holds a special place in my heart.

It is a case of " less is more " and is a simple 2 character commission by MC Wyman. It is one of the least expensive commissions that he has done for me but I just love it. The body language is so powerful...

On the blank canvas Russ Payne and I played with various options that would enhance the pencil & inks. I think the "grey spotlight' effect against the white floor and black background did that in an amazing manner. This is one of Russ' finest pieces for me..

The blurb that I came up with " I Am My Brothers' Keeper.." draws its inspiration from the story that introduced Mon-el as "Superboy's Big Brother "The art by Greg LaRocque in that piece is beautiful but it is the dialogue that gets me every-time from the poignant " I loved him, you know " by Duo Damsel to Mon-el's beautiful tribute " He called me Brother, he took me into his home and from the day we met. he thought of me everyday of his life."

I wanted to create a little tribute to that bond. It is a different Superboy this time but I think it came out well...

I wanted this piece to be in stark contrast to the other chapters which have been one fight scene after another..Russ ACED it !

Amazing how you managed to take a two character Wyman commission and turn it into a stunning cover like this. Emotional yes,but the spotlight effect from Russell takes this to the next level! Great stuff Aidan!
