Description

I wanted this series to end on a high note and this JSA cover by Alan Davis was the perfect choice.Ferro Lad's costume had gotten darker but now in his latest incarnation, he is once again to his Legion teammates an heroic inspiration, with these new powers, he literally becomes a true shining light.

We chose the characters carefully. Sensor Girl was there in the beginning ,at Ferro Lad's first "resurrection" and Phantom Girl facilitated his second "resurrection"

Bouncing Boy using his powers to reflect that boundless enthusiasm and fun that drew so many fans to the Legion. Superboy & Supergirl are also shining lights, their exploits inspired the founders of the Legion a thousand years into the future.

Polar Boy represents the Substitutes who may not have the most useful of powers but they have the biggest hearts. Sun Boy is the born flirt and charmer whose romantic exploits have added at difficult times, much needed humor to the group.

Krypto was added to reflect the innocence of a time when a " Legion of Super-Pets " seemed such an obvious & natural thing to have. I also wanted to show some worried CAF folk who were worried about Krypto's treatment at the hands of Superboy Prime in "The Prime Time Paradox" that he had survived.

Trevor as usual has done an amazing job. I enjoy returning to these pieces as I post them in sequence. As you see this "newest" image, Trevor and I are already a third of the way thru the next "Infinite Timelines: And A Child Shall Lead Them " project, so this gives me an opportunity to revisit them & marvel at how far this project as come.

Three years ago, this all started and was meant to be just an eight part story. Twenty-five images later, it has taken on a life of its own and it has been so much more.

Russell again works tirelessly to bring out the best in each chapter & cover, while at the same time, seamlessly blending dozens of images into one epic tale. I could not imagine this project without either of them & recommend them wholeheartedly to others on CAF.
Enjoy

I've been wanting my own commission from Trevor for a while, and this series of commissions you've gotten from him has just made me want one even more.

Fantastic! This piece really captures the enthusiasm and pure joy that was evident in classic Legion stories---I love the resolution of Ferro Lad's arc in this series!

Thanks Mike & Lloyd. My first Legion story was "The outcast Superheroes '..featuring Superboy & Supergirl been expelled from the Legion. it was a two-part event that featured, the Subs & the Super-Pets..& pretty much everybody else and by the end of it..Evillo is defeated, the Hag is transformed and revealed to be Dream Girl's sister "The White witch", Bouncing Boys powers were restored, Lightning Lad got a new arm. the Super-cousins returned, Color Kid of all people saved the day and Matter-Eater Lad managed to loose weight ! All in all a cool story and I wanted to echo that high note. This cover & next week's "Hardcover Edition of A Metallic Messiah " does homage to all of the above and more.

This story is coming to an end but we had so much fun that he is working on a 36 part tale featuring Darkseid & the Legion. He has done 12 parts to date but since I post only one piece a week and we have the Starman, Duo Damsel and the Colossal Boy stories to showcase, it will be next year before we get around to Trevor again.

I replied to you once before saying that Trevor would return soon but I wanted to put out an update, That 2nd multi-part story, kept growing & growing and has morphed into an incredible 100 cover event. We just finished plotting it last night and as it stands we are all the way to Chapter 58. When I do post it up on CAF , it will be at the rate of two a week but will still take a whole year to tell.
