DescriptionAnd we are off to the races. John & I felt this was a great cover on which to begin Luornu's journey. We know that she lost two bodies ( once against Computo and the other against the Trapper ) . She has fared equally badly as a character in other timelines ( gnawed to death by rats in Countdown..Ugh ! ) and so this damaged young woman seeks to reclaim what she lost. However, the road to hell is often paved with the best of intentions. The tonal effect that John did on half of the page gives a great sense of transition. He again did a color version as a gift and Russ pulled it all together for us. Enjoy Aidan Social/Sharing |

My instinct is to demand Kirby dots along that boarder but I accept that that doesn't really fit :)
More great, great work from John and another wonderful addition to the extended Legion universe.

More stellar work from the great John Watson! I love the tonal effect, and the anguish on Chuck and Kal's faces is palpable. And that color version---I can almost smell the newsprint! Long Live the Legion!

Once again I'm loving the colored version, but Watson is great just the same in B&W! This is excellent!

I always had a bit of a fanboy crush on Lournu! Fantastic cover by John - I am a sucker for gray-tone effects. I wonder how John would handle zip-a-tone?

Yeah, the divide in tones is really cool. Also, Aidan, we never speak of Countdown!

The progression in each stage is fantastic. My favorite is the inks with tones. And I love that you and John used that Flash cover by Adams as the source. That and Flash 246 would be my faves by NA. Great execution by John. And Russell adds a great bow to wrap things up.

I totally understand why we don't mention the "C-down" Karate Kid..also suffered numerous deaths and indignities . I bought the infamous "rat page " so that it would never see the light of day

I love the Legion story that inspired the cover and I think your cover is better than the original Flash version. I personally like the pure pencils best. It reminds me somewhat of the Cardy cover to Teen Titans #22, although in that case, Wonder Girl was not trying to get away. This is an outstanding addition to your remarkable collection. Congratulations!

Congratulations! Thanks. That classic Titans cover was on my radar for a long time and Anthony Castrillo just re-did it for me. It will feature XS among others in Infinite Timelines : The Quick & The Dead

I love this cover, the tonal effect is amazing and then we get color as well, YES! You have a great artist here. Questions though, shouldn't She just be wearing a one color suit if there's just one of her? How did you come up with the numbering of this series?

How did you come up with the numbering of this series? You are corect, she did wear a one color suit when she split ( and we will show that later ) but we thought the split costume would echo the split in the cover..also ,she is searching for those "other selves " so may it's asubconscious need for the past. The numbering was John's idea..he added up issues from different eras, annuals, one-shots, limited series etc after Tales finished. I have no idea if that number is accurate but knowing what a huge fan he is, I suspect he got it 100% right.

It was a long while ago that I did this piece. If I remember correctly I had each issue numbered as if the original Legion series had continued down to this day. However, that may be skewed now as I think I started drawing this series in early 2013! The intent was there to keep this as a continuation of the original Legion series though.

And " Multiplicity Of Murders " has required a lot more work than some others.I was saying to Russ Payne, that if I stopped the commissions today, I would still have almost two years of posts to draw upon every week
