DescriptionHeroes Con in Charlotte is very artist friendly and I have been very fortunate over the years to find great talent for my Infinite Timelines project. A student at the Savannah College Of Art and Design, Ariela Kristantina's work just jumped out at me. I gave her different cover options for the commission and she gravitated towards this dramatic piece. The touches of blood red were her idea as was using the flowing blood to create unusual face masks on Myg and Northwind. It is a disturbing image but when a hero falls, we should be disturbed. The Light is gone , Darkness has fallen and the rest of the Legionnaires must walk in the shadow of Ayla's demise.Russ of course brought his "A" game to this striking cover. A feather falls..... Interesting - the stuff of nightmares! That was exactly the point. Infinite Timelines is having a high death toll as we move from story-line to story-line but I want each to be memorable and fit into an overall pattern

I was already a fan of Ariela's work and this make me want a commission from her for myself even more! Love it!

Moody and atmospheric, noir. These are not alway associated with the Legion, which makes this even more powerful. Kudos, sir!

Ever since reading the death of Ferro Lad and Invisible Kid way back when, I realized death in the Legionverse was different to "death" in comics, it was taken a lot more seriously. I think the cover captures that truth
