DescriptionThis piece first caught my eye, several years ago,when I saw it published in Glen Cadogan's The Best of the Legion Outpost..it is a great Silver age take on the Alex Ross Legion lithograph , I love the dramatic layout .the reaching for the stars image, which is what those early stories inspired us to do.It is a collection of Silver Age gems with characters like The Tornado Twins. They were introduced in what was meant to be a once off appearance as 30th century descendents of Barry Allen aka the Flash. Thanks to a later event called Crisis on Infinite earth and a revamped DC Universe, they later became a bigger part of continuity as the parents of the Legionnaire XS and of Bart Allen known as Impulse, The Flash ( albeit briefly )and Kid Flash. It also features a rare Lana Lang appearence as Legion Reservist, Insect Queen and puts a firm Legion favorite : Ferro Lad ( who will have his own Infinite Timelines mini-series ) front and centre , which is always a plus in my book. I have had the pencils for a while and suggested to Chris Ivy that we needed to incoporate it into the our imaginary Legion story. Now, it shows the Legion answering the call to arms against the Time Trapper in the cosmic event known throughout the universe(s) as The Infinite Timelines.. Enjoy Aidan Social/Sharing |

This piece has such a wonderful upward motion to it ... as you say, it's a 'reaching for the stars' image that is very inspiring and the subject of so many comic stories throughout the years. Great grab!
