Description

As a long time admirer of original art, I cannot afford any of those "great" pieces. So I thought to myself, "why not try and recreate it myself?" It was tough to pick something; but I finally decided on Albert Moy's: Jim Lee's Batman & Catwoman - Warm Up for Hush. I think the reason I picked it was because of the dynamic poses. It took me about 3 weeks, for an hour or two a day. Total time was probably 40-50 hours. Still wondering if I should ink it or not. But there's just something I like about pencil art. I'll try and replace this poor photo with a better one when I get some time. Anyways feedback and critiques would be greatly appreciated. Obviously I didn't draw the cityscape background (just wanted to focus on the 2 characters); and I modified Catwoman's mask, and removed her tail. (kind of went with the Michelle Pfeiffer outfit) Thanks for checking it out! Actual size is approximately 14" x 20", so it's nice and big!

Looking great! That is also what I thought to myself "why not recreate art myself if I can never afford it." Hence I have some Frank Miller and Brian Bolland recreations in my CAF gallery that I did myself.

Jovi, your "killing joke" and "dark knight" recreations are INCREDIBLE!

Thanks! I suggest you ink over scans of the art so nothing to lose if you make a mistake. I also had my amateur pencils inked by a pro in my most recent X-Men commission. You can also look into that concept since you draw quite wonderfully. A new theme "My pencils inked by a pro."
