I think this was one of the best covers from Johns time with DC.

Splendid inks by Klaus as always.

The rain downpour is a JRJR signature at this point. It is used for his street level heroes and is done with an extensive effort for both himself and his inkers. Janson's inking adds an effective use of white splatter to reflect the randomness of the raindrops.

"It never rains but it pours."

Batman never seems to get a break. Here, on this quintessential Batman cover by the amazing John Romita Jr and Klaus Janson, the Dark Knight seems to be contemplating just that. Once again, he's on patrol, sitting poised on the top of a water tower in midtown Gotham and it's pouring buckets. Masterfully penciled by Romita and artfully inked by Janson, this cover brings home the sometimes lonely existence of life as a suerhero. Congratulations on acquiring this handsome, if somewhat soggy, cover.
