DescriptionAccording to Romitaman's Mike Burkey," The credits for this first issue in the actual comic book are John Romita Jr. pencilling and Alfredo Alcala inking. I just found out recently from a fellow art fan who contacted Bob McLeod, and he told the fan that this art was actually published as the page 1 splash, with John Buscema pencilling it, Bob McLeod inking it, with John Romita Sr. redrawing the face! Great splash !
In fact, in this piece, you still have the original face drawn by Big john called for help using a Bo Derek picture (not so obvious). Anyway you can compare the uncredited splash in the comic book where you can see the difference after John Romita Sr did the alteration. Very weird this page was signet by the Romita's, but it often happened with any artists...
