Stan Lee (*) Neal ADAMS redrew the major Superman figures (uncredited) Superman and Spider-Man meet for the first time and must work together to prevent Luthor and Dr. Octopus's nefarious plans for world domination. This is the first DC/Marvel crossover ever published. Features Superman in every panel. Although he wasn't officially credited, legendary DC artist Neal Adams assisted Andru with some of the pencils. The art measures 9.65 x 13 inches (24,5 x 33 cm) ************************* COMMENTS: In the 21st century comic book readers have been enjoying (or horrified) many crossovers of superheroes. From epic episodes (such as the memorable JLA / Avengers) to more mediocre ones (Has anyone ever told Spider-Man / Backlash?) The characters from the top editors are at crosses in special comics for over thirty years. But the first crossover, and certainly the best of all, was Superman Vs. The Amazing Spider-Man. It was in 1976 when the editors of Marvel and DC (Stan Lee and Carmine Infantino) agreed to make one of the most spectacular comics of all time, an idea, never thought before, that was the dream of all readers: Spider-Man And Superman sharing pages. And as was a great idea, everything was great: the size (tabloid), the authors (Gerry Conway and Ross Andru, two stars of Marvel), villains (Lex Luthor and Doctor Octopus, the best of each house) and pages 96, five times more than usual). Ross Andru, although perhaps not the most memorable cartoonists of the seventies, was an impressive artist who portrayed all his art in the pages of this comic. On this particular page, we note that Andru not only mastered the design of action scenes but also daily or simpler scenes. Always in the shadow of Kane and Romita, Andru was one of the best artists that Spider-Man had and perhaps the best that could have this special. This page is a grail, a historical moment that marked the childhood and adolescence of millions of readers. It was a dream come true that will last for years thanks to its greatness, quality and epic narrative. Legend of pencil, paper and ink. (Text courtesy by Francesc Martinez) Social/Sharing |

Wow!! That comic had a great impact in me when I was in my teens, and I think that it is still THE crossover between publishing companies. Congratulations for owning a very nice page of it!

Andru was a great visual storyteller and his depiction of facial expressions has never been topped, in my mind. Nobody drew a better JJJ or Green Goblin and his depiction of Clark Kent is amazing!

Two mighty icons collide! History indeed. That top panel of Supes soaring through the sky than changing to Clark Kent is epic.Any and I mean any page out of this classic crossover is a keeper!
