Description

Sam had this to say about his 1974 USS Stevens story "Toro" when I asked him how much of it was true: "The guy came onboard...I heard he was gonna be transferred to another ship heading for the States...he was to get a medical discharge (as far as I know). He carried this 'knife' ...I saw it...he went on liberty and never came back aboard....I heard he fell or jumped off a cliff....as far as meeting up with Japs I made that up."
