DescriptionI love this page - classic images of my favorite character in comics, the Green Goblin. The creepy mask. The oversized Goblin face bursting out of the panel. The detailed pumpkin bombs. The maniacal look as the Goblin tinkers with his glider. The sparse backgrounds allowing the images to pop. And the over-the-top Stan Lee villain dialogue (…”as only the Goblin can!”) as the page develops from panel to panel.I love the history as well - first ASM issue drawn by John Romita Sr. and the story that revealed the Green Goblin to be Norman Osborn - changing the Marvel Universe forever! As much as a scan is great to share, seeing this twice-up in person is incomparable. Many thanks to - who else? - Mike Burkey for opening the vault yet again! Social/Sharing |

William, this is awesome! I remember the confusion of seeing this strange transition in AS from Ditko to this new artist who I had really only taken notice of in Daredevil. Boy did Romita make his mark. Congratulations on a defining page.

You can see some of that in his early issues, but on this page in particular he really set himself apart. For me - and many others - he really defined the look of the Green Goblin.

This is "FAN"-tastic! Aside from Ditko, no one drew The Green Goblin with such flare. This page is so key, classic and timeless. You're sure blessed, friend. Thanks for sharing such rich history.

Phenomenal page here and I totally love your theme of classic spidey villains - when I 1st got into the hobby I attempted to put together a collection of baddies from McFarlanes run on ASM but it was easier said than done. I love what you are going for here and what awesome selections you have made thus far!

it's like the three first panels are Ditko-inspired, but the last 3 are all Romita.

John Romita's Green Goblin is my favorite depiction of the character and this is one of the nicest pages I've ever seen. The scan looks great, I can only imagine how amazing the original looks! Terrific dialogue and amazing art, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Although I've already commented on this spectacular piece of history before, I felt the need to leave another feedback for it. I don't know how you pulled this one off, and I'm pretty sure you might be taking this one to the grave with you. However, if there is ever the slightest chance of giving this one up someday, then please remember me. p.s."WOW"!!!
