Don Rosa (born in 1951)
Page 12 of the story Of Ducks and Dimes and Destinies.

Created in 1991, just before the Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck (Lo$), this story waited for the completion of the saga before being published for the first time in 1995. Don Rosa and the editors thought that publishing the chapter 1 just after this story would be bad form, which explains why Of Ducks and Dimes and Destinies was shelved for a few years.

In this story, Magica De Spell travels in time to try to get a hold of Scrooge�s first dime before the coin enters in Scrooge�s possession.

In this page, Scrooge catches the dime after Magica dropped it. He gives the coin back to Magica, unaware of the importance the dime will later have in his life, and oblivious to the fact that the person in front of him will become one of his most relentless adversaries.

Because Don Rosa completed the story before working on Lo$, this is actually the first time he ever drew the young Scrooge McDuck as a shoeshine boy (as well as Scrooge�s father and sisters). With the exception of a shadow in the last panel of the previous page, this page is also the first appearance of young Scrooge in the story.
