My favorite Hooks period is when he began his switch from traditional painterly realism used up to around 1956, to his much bolder, graphic approach in the 1957 to 1959 period. But having said that, I'm a fan of most of his work and always appreciate seeing any of the vintage stuff pre-1970's. Great to see this original in particular, because every copy of the book I've ever seen was printed badly. Very cool!
