DescriptionOK, well, damn. This one is pretty exciting😁 I haven't gotten a great Whilce piece in more than a decade!This piece popped up on eBay and BINed quickly. I spent weeks looking for it, reaching out to collectors and dealers trying to find it. I even asked the Donnellys, ready to pay their prices. Nothing. Suddenly, it pops up on FB! And it's in the hands of someone I know!! A few hours and emails later and he agrees to sell it to me😁 I've been on cloud nine ever since! I remember this page fondly. It's one of the best in Whilce's entire UXM run, second only to the first appearance splash of Bishop later in this issue. This is just prime, classic Whilce at his peak. The rendering is off the charts, his Colossus is amazing. There's a ton of whiteout laid down on Colossus by Thibert, not for mistakes, but to create the glints in his armor. I'm extremely jealous of this one. I thought of inquiring also when I saw it posted to FB but just wasn't in a spot to making any purchases at the time. Lucky you. ;-). Congrats!

Congrats! Yeah that was a lighting quick BIN on Ebay. Glad you were able to end up with it!

Portacio's run on UXM was a bit uneven, but the peaks were absolute peaks, and this is a clear example! Had I see the eBay auction I would have run for it! Huge congrats on securing this piece.

Big congrats, man! Definitely one of Whilce's best X-Men piecec, and that's saying something. Great splash of the 3 heroes and those inset Xaver panels are a nice bonus. Bet your'e spending some TIME poring over this one!

Can't believe I haven't commented on this piece yet ! What an incredible page with an awesome splash ! These are my favorite X-Men pages with Portacio/Thibert ! Many of these slipped by me some years back as they moved into and out of the market pretty fast.Luckily,I saved one of them and is in my gallery now.Fantastic pick-up my friend !

I'm with you! I think this is the second best page of Whilce's run, after Bishop's first appearance. I think you have the third best page 🤩 Epic stuff!!
