Description

I don't remember the year, but I do remember meeting the Pander Brothers at a Wonder Con in Oakland (same convention that I would meet Mike Allred for the first time). And, they had pages from their beautifully dynamic work on Grendel.! And, (yes, and) I was lucky enough to get the pen and ink cover to issue 1!! There is nothing quite like finding a piece that you never thought you'd get a chance to pick up.

WonderCon 1993 or 1994 is my guess. Image Comics was the special guest. I got Spawn #9 signed by McFarlane and Gaiman.

Quite familiar with the cover since it was the first Grendel thing I picked up after Mage. The background certainly looks quite different from the airbrushed final art.
