Description

This was a moment in my life that I will take to the grave. I was asked to moderate the Big Wow Comic-Fest Swamp Thing panel featuring Tom Yeates, Rick Veitch, Steve Bissette, and John Totleben. It was the very first panel I had ever done and I was terrified but it went great. There is so much history between these four Kubert School alumni that just one question would take on the most fascinating conversation between the four of them. It was like throwing a pebble in a pond. One question would send a ripple effect through the panelist and the answers just flowed.

At the end I presented an image on the large screen sent to me by Kelley Jones of an interior page of his Swamp Thing Convergence work. It created a passing of the baton moment that put nice little bow at the end of the panel.

These four artist have my deepest respect and admiration and I thank the audience for their attendance and great questions.

Thanks for the iconic photo! (would make a great commission!). I really wanted to attend this panel but was helping out Dan Herman in his Hermes Press booth for half of that two hours ( Dan's Gil Kane panel ran concurrently with yours). I agree with my son Brian, I'm sure you did an amazing job of moderating and I wish these panels were all recorded as video, or at least audio for podcasting.
