Our mutual friend Jonathan gifted me the most beautiful Maleficent painting by McHaley for my birthday several years back. So I've been a fan of Mark's for a while. Beautiful watercolor work. Congratulations mon ami.

Fabulous! The watercolor paper is so thirsty for these rich and deep hues of Supergirl while still holding the more serene atmosphere of the enviroment. This contrast of the idyllic North East coastal town with the sleek animated design does it's job to hold your interest.

Absolutely stunning illustration of the beautifully designed Supergirl from the DC animated series of the same name. Illustrator Mark McHaley, best known for his work on Star Wars, created this remarkable painting of the Girl of Steel in watercolors. I love Supergirl's pose here, rising up into the sky but shielding her eyes from the Golden Sun, as if it were too bright for a girl born in a world with a Red Sun. She stops in midair, over a beautiful coastal lighthouse with seagulls flying freely around it. But she is not free, she has powers and therefore a reponsibility to use them wisely. But she yearns to be free as they, to fly and soar without a care in the world. But such is not her fate.
