Description

For quite a while, my LCS, I Like Comics, has been trying to get Darick Robertson to do a signing at their store. Things finally fell into place and he was able to make it. Darick is such a great person to meet and talk to, and is very enthusiastic about doing pieces at signings. He had already knocked a few out of the park, so I knew I wanted to get one too.

We talked for a little while about what to do. At first it was just Spidey and Nightwing, then vs a villain, but then we decided to go with the main two and a character that he had worked on before.

We considered Spider Jerusalem, a more comedic piece, or maybe even Midnighter, but when I brought up Wolverine, you could tell that was what Darick really wanted to do, so we ran with that.

Darick, his family, the shop owner and I went out to dinner after the signing and had a great time. Drinks were had, and I can honestly say this is the first commission I ever finalized in the bathroom of a mexican restaurant, haha.

Darick worked on the piece the next morning and gave it to me at the Amazing Spider-Man screening we were attending. To say I was thrilled was an understatement.

When Wolverine starts shoehorning himself into other peoples commission collections (especially ones devoted to characters other than himself), you KNOW he's reached saturation point!

It's not shoehorning when the artist that drew the commission was the artist on Wolverine for over 2 years ;)
