DescriptionEarly (1958) Joe Kubert twice up war page. This is page 5 from "Letter to a Jet". I've always loved the Russian MIG and am thrilled to have a Kubert page with such a fantastic panel featuring the MIG!!!!Social/Sharing |

It's a fantastic page on its own. But to find a prime DC page from this era... that is truly special! Congrats!

Wonderful!! The care and time put into these early stories is really evident. This is a great example. Now, find the rest of this story!!

Very nice page. The art is great but I find the layouts interesting. The first panel has rough borders like a folded up piece of paper which is a nice link visually and aesthetically to the second panel of the wrinkled up paper. The first panel is also set behind the following panels giving the page and unexpected depth. Joe really could do it all and did it all so well.

Joe Kubert was a modern master--He doesn't get nearly as much credit as he deserves. I love this page with the lone soldier reading a letter from his girl as a Mig goes into a dive to shoot at him. The layout is simple but effective. And the inks are spot on! Great pick-up!
