Description

I'm a huge fan of the Harvey-Black Cat and very early in his career Joe worked on a number of stories featuring the Black Cat.

I was actually lucky enough to pick up a 40s page featuring Joe's work on Linda Turner.

If anyone happens to know what issue of Speed Comics this came from please let me know.

Very, very cool - nice to see an example of Joe's early work - shades of early Kirby, some Jack Cole and a wisp of Eisner - Kubert was developing his skills way back when!

This is art for the last page of the story the GCD lists as "Him!'... although there really was no title on the story. Him is the villain of the story that appeared in Speed 34, September 1944.

Wally, Thanks so much, because of the unique nature of the sketchbook posts I can't edit the issue number in (as I learned this morning when I accidentally deleted my Joe Kubert Black Cat commission) but when I post this image to my Black Cat gallery in December, I'll be sure to include the issue number.
