DescriptionI don't buy many contemporary political cartoon, but when I recently saw this piece by Bruce MacKinnon of the Chronicle Herald, it pretty much stopped me in my tracks. The cartoon relates to the 75 year old Buffalo protestor Martin Gugino, who was knocked down by the police and suffered a fractured skull. As he lay on the ground with blood running from his ear, the police walked by him. You can see Trump walking by with the police, tweeting away, as Uncle Sam lays bleeding on the ground. I decided to reach out to Bruce directly and was able to buy the piece. As I say, I don't generally buy contemporary stuff like this, but I felt that the piece was Pulitzer-worthy and really summed up the times we're living in well. Sadly so.
