Description

I first commissioned Felipe Massafera in 2012 and I was blown away by the result.
I was regretting a bit that I didn't go full background for it so I told myself the next chance I get I was gonna go all out.

Felipe Massafera is a phenomenal artist whose paintings are often compared to Alex Ross's.
And I can see why. The realism and the attention to details are just out of this world.

I've always loved the cover of Wolverine: The End #1 variant by David Finch.
The idea of Wolverine, the mutant that cannot be killed, against a bunch of deadly ninjas always fascinate me. And every time I look at the cover I've always wondered what's next? What if that's not the end? What if more ninjas are coming and the battle continues?

So one day I had this idea and Felipe is the first artist I thought of for this commission to give it a more realistic approach and turn it into a beautiful painting.
The idea of continuing the battle, Wolverine is healing, he's cleaning his wounds whereas of course the wear and tear on his costumes remain.
He's about to step out as he thinks the battle is over but he's wrong as turns out there's still more Hand ninjas lurking in the background for more battle.
So he looks at them and give the expression "Let's go for another round!".

I received this 14 x 20 painting recently and I must say I'm very very happy with the outcome.
It's everything I pictured in my mind and more. WoW!
