Descriptionas grails go, this would be in my top 5, or maybe top 3... or maybe just the top... as i can't think of any other book that meant more to me as a kid than green lantern 85 and 86. in 1977, my father and i went up to san francisco for a father/son trip. i was 13 years old and just about at the end of my comic book buying. my father took me to sf moma to see a rauschenberg exhibition, and i took him to baycon - specifically to buy green lantern 85 and 86. i have no idea why a 13 year old was so obsessed with a storyline about junkies, but adams was probably my favorite artist so i wanted those books. of course, it took me only a few minutes to find the books, and that night in the hotel i obsessed over the art, flipping the pages over and over again. needless to say, i was pretty obsessed with these issues.fast forward to a few years ago and heritage auctioned the page at a price i simply could not afford... and then a few months later it showed up on albert moy's site. and when i saw the new price i nearly puked... but nonetheless i knew i had to own it. a year or so later i saw the page in person at wondercon and also at the last san diego comic-con, and of course, in person it was simply gorgeous... so finally, i decided to sell some things i didn't want to sell, and then ever so slowly, i paid it off (AND A BIG THANKS TO ALBERT FOR HIS PATIENCE). along with the nostalgia, the art in this issue is fantastic, and one of only a few GL issues that adams did both pencils and inking. for me, this page has everything... green lantern and green arrow and even a junkie... and denny o'neil's dialog is great! This is a most excellent page! I love everyone getting annoyed with Green Arrow as he goes on his anti-drug rant. That man is high on anger! Big congrats, Steve, and nice story to go with it as well!

*Sigh* I used to be the owner of this page. I traded it a few years ago toward a bigger want. I had hoped that I would be able to replace it down the line with another. Although there have been several great pages that have shown up since, none have this page's particular combination of elements at this price point. Definitely a gorgeous specimen, especially in person. Congrats to you...this page is clearly in the right home now.
