DescriptionThis is my first Daredevil page by Gene the Dean. The layout really shines in person, more so than when you give it first glance. The last panel has DD almost jumping through the panel and it really is a testament to Gene's layout ability. This also looks great above the drawing board!Social/Sharing |

Nice pick up. Who would have figured you for a Colan fan:) I like the bottom two panels. They are a tribute to the penciller and the inker and the right combination of both. The fourth panel is such an abstract shape of black on white background yet you know exactly what is going on. Such iconic figures. The minimal lighting in the third panel gives us the same use of negative space and letting our eyes fill in the missing pieces. Syd Shores does not get enough credit on Colan, probably because Palmer became the gold standard to whom all other Colan inkers are compared.

Stellar page! Panels 3 and 4 alone are worth the price of admission.

I agree with Jeff. I love the contrasting light and dark-based third and fourth panels. Just a lovely page!
