DescriptionPROPHET #45 cover artwork by Simon RoyWritten by Brandon Graham Image Comics - July 2014 The relaunch of the Prophet property was like no other. It was a big departure from the original 90's book that you might remember from Liefeld and Platt, and featured collaborative works from some indie greats from the US, Greece, Japan, and more. I loved how Graham and Roy worked with different artists from book to book and aligned the art teams to ongoing character arcs, which Paste Magazine referred to as, "the mind-melt work of independent genre trail-blazers Brandon Graham, Simon Roy, Giannis Milonogiannis, Farel Dalrymple and many others." We got to enjoy 2+ years and 25 issues of mind bending storytelling, plus a few more Strikefile, and Earth War issues with some breathtaking visuals. This book often felt introspective as I looked onto each issue with different versions of John Prophet scaling the universe toward the climatic team-up in this final issue. Graham and Roy often left enough of the story open to us readers to interpret but still gave us enough to feel connected to the characters and their momentum forward. Thanks to Ben for allowing me to add this final issue cover to my Prophet collection. The War in Space reaches its climax, but the story will continue... - Image Comics Social/Sharing |

The revival in 2012 pays off the promise of the original concepts now set ten thousand years later in the timeline! More than just a pretty 90's Image icon, Prophet wakes up as a super soldier in a larger galactic worlds and war. Simon Roy's artwork set the tone of this new realistic look and expounds on Prophet's now gruff old soldier look!

That was indeed an excellent SF series, full of neat SF concepts and cool world building. Great cover.

Very cool, George! I could tell form the promo art that this wasn't going to be same ole 90's Prophet. Sounds like I'm going to need to look into finally reading it!

This is the same character created by Liefeld?!? Wow, this is a HUGE change in art, concept & design! Kudos.
