Sorry to bore you , here is a story of a pivotal part of my life ...
1977 i was 7 years old and could not read or write due to dyslexia , which mean't in the 1970's been regarded as slow or retarded...
My Mum was emplyoed by the Leeds and District spastic society and i was taken to a spastic shop on Lodge lane ls11 , while there a lady help called Edith ( Dave Everett's gran ) saw i was bored and she gave me a scabby old book to read , it was a Eagle no.8 from 1959 ...it was all rubbish until i open the page where the Dan Dare strip was , it was like a rainbow hitting my eye's , i could not understand the words , but the story flowed ( it was like my first love ) it took me at a guess 3 months to learn how to read after that book , which set me off collecting Eagle Annuals and comics ....... fast forward 35 years and some of you know i collect and deal in comic book artwork ...I was offered the page below , ok it was expensive trade , but it is a full circle ....the first ever Original comic page i ever read ...

Special piece. I also collect Dan dare OA. The artwork that came out of the Frank Hampton studios in the 50's and 60's is unparalleled.
