DescriptionMY BYRNE GRAIL! Also, My Grail of Grails! This is the original artwork to the promotional poster heralding John Byrne's tenure on the series. Just Burstin with Goodness. Yum!!!!In honor of Man of Steel which ROCKS!!!!! Image size: 12x16 Full Circle. It feels like I have come Home. John Byrne was the first Comic Book Artist who DID IT for me. I came in on his work on the FF and was hooked. I NEEDED EVERYTHING Byrne. This was before I got the OA Bug. I bought everything he did: Comics, his Art Book, eventually a taste of his foray into book fiction. In 1982, I received my first piece of original art, a head sketch of Storm. That had been my only Byrne piece for years (I sold it last year). In 1986, the Comic Book World was turned on its head by the likes of the Dark Knight Returns and Watchmen. It was in that same year that John got his long-awaited shot at the Man of Steel. The Promo Poster came out and I was stunned! I bugged my local comic shop to give me the poster and they eventually did (it rests somewhere in a friend's parents basement). In 2007, noticed that Tim T had the original in his collection. I inquired but he had no interest in letting it go. Over the next couple years, we kept in contact about it and, then, last Summer, a possibility reared its beautiful head and things began to take shape. And... Today, my Dream became a Reality! Truly, My FAVORITE BYRNE PIECE!!!! Thanks to Tim and all those who made this possible! Social/Sharing |

I've got the promo poster in a frame in my studio. It's one of my favorite drawings of all time. I'm stoked the original is in good hands. Treasure it for the rest of us!

This wonderful piece was framed on my walls for several years; I hated to let it go, but am glad it has found its way to your collection! Congratulations on one of my all-time favorite Superman illustrations!

Definitely a one-and-done piece! With a piece of this magnitude, there really is no need to own any other example of Byrne's Superman work. Simply stunning!
