Description

Eastman in his "Artobiography" said this about the book: "The idea of the "One Issue Micro Series" was born out of the very popular "Four Issue Mini Series" concept that was introduced in the comics industry around this time. Always inspired by the industry, it was great to put the Turtles spin on it."

Eastman & Laird did four �1 of 1� Micro Series issues which were devoted to fleshing out each Turtle. In Raphael #1, we notably meet Casey Jones (in his first appearance.)

This issue was created in the early years, before Turtlemania would take the world by storm in the late 80s. Back when it was just Eastman & Laird in the studio, doing everything themselves: writing, art, toning, layouts, and lettering. They used duo-tone art boards that they hand-cut so no two boards are exactly the same. Love early TMNT art!
