DescriptionIt's time I told a story of an artist who went above and beyond for me and my son. Kaare came to Miami supercon for the first time this year. He was nice to everyone who stopped by his table, but he was INCREDIBLE to his smallest fans, the kids that came to see him. Kaare spent so much time with my son, talking to him about everything from Lego to cartoons to movies. He asked my son what character he wanted drawn, and after some thought, my son asked him for "Hulk Smash." Not the Incredible Hulk mind you or even Hulk but Hulk Smash. My son and I stood at Kaare's table while he created this masterpiece. He asked my son to stand behind the table so he could get a better view. When the piece was done, people who watched Kaare draw the piece were ooohing and ahhing , and one guy says "cool Hulk Kaare" to which Kaare says "No, this is Hulk Smash." My son was beaming. He didn't stop smiling for days. He's a Kaare fan for life, and so am I.Social/Sharing |

I can think of a few "superstar" artists who could use a lesson in humility from Mr. Andrews. Great story. Keep on truckin', Ari!

Such a heart-melting story, Ari!! When an artist treats youngsters with that kind of respect, care and humility... a true fan is born. A moment your son will never forget and a killer piece as well. Makes me believe in this hobby a little bit more.
