DescriptionI don't usually go for half-pages, but that certainly is a misconception from my part... Or, at least, I DID not go for half-pages until I saw this one...Obviously, a very classic theme of the teenager superhero plagued with doubt. But this one has a special twist with Hank Hall/Hawk as the cocky and dismissive big brother behind the back of his angst-ridden younger brother Don Hall/Dove. And, of course, this scene is masterfully designed by Gil Kane, who adds a subtlety that is rarely associated to him... Let's not forget the pristine inks of Sal Trapani, easily bearing comparison with Murphy Anderson or even Wally Wood, here... A great self-contained scene from a peak period of creativity for DC Comics, and, of course, for the artists themselves... Social/Sharing |

Half page by size, but sure not by poignancy and artistry. Congrats on this great addition!

Peter Parker levels of a walk off into the sunset, with the realization that the hero carries the lessons learned in this issue into the future alone. Masterful artistry by Gil Kane.

Thanks Marcus! The shadow of Spider-Man obviously looms large here! Personally, I like the homage...

Thanks Bill! We've all been through that phase, superhero or not... That's why we can relate to it...
