DescriptionWhile not displaying any of the larger guns in the series (... and, oh, there are quite a few of them around here!), I have several reasons to be seriously taken by this Thor page:1) It's action, action, action... all the way,... like only Kirby can deliver! 2) Who needs Super-Heroes when plain cops do the job and deal with the Circus of Crime, well, somewhat more effectively than the Thunder God himself? This is clearly acknowledged by the King himself in his handwritten note on the border below the last panel: "Justice can be just as clever in its own way"! 3) It's a rare treat to behold these tight, crisp Bill Everett inks who, during this period, was finding ways to significantly enhance the work of even the brightest pencillers! You know,... I think I'll rest my case! Social/Sharing |

Kirby / Everett - a fabulous combination! Thanks Mark! After having seen on your gallery how much you appreciate Bill Everett's work, I must admit I'm not really surprised you like this page, although I think your own Kirby/Everett collection is much more impressive than mine!...

Hyper-kinetic Kirby action with sweet and supple Everett inks? Would that there were another hundred issues of this collaboration on Thor! It's too great!
