Description

After all these years, I finally found one, Thank you Mark.
After doing my homework, she is actually a Girl (III) from 1976. Same as the first 2 editions, minus the sculpted-in front plate from the front basin. Unsigned edition of appx. 100. Damn she's beautiful and I couldn't be happier.
So I now to need to find her permanent home. But while figuring it out, I thought I'd pair her up with my Jones Prehistoric Man ( aka NEANDERTHAL CAVEMAN ) also in Vatican stone , made in 1973 and signed in ball point pen on the front plate. A numbered edition of 100.
And for the moment, I thought a nice touch would be to pose them in front of my Vaughn Bode original.
The search is finally over, i have a very understanding wife.

Wonderful artifacts from the time period. An extension of Jones' creativity during this era, these reflect how he saw them inhabit their worlds in three dimensions. It gave Jones the outlet to fine tune the characters in his mind to make them more real.

I hope you only placed them on the narrow ledge for this photo. If not, its an accident waiting to happen. Move them to a safer place, immediately. How long would it take to get replacements???? Unlikely. Very happy when someone gets a dream piece.

Congrats on obtaining these rare and significant art objects - hope I will join this club someday - Jones was a great artist!

What a pair of gorgeous sculptures! Congratulations on finding the girl. I could spend hours studying each of these from all angles.

Great find. I had a nice 2nd edition of the female figure and it was a thing of beauty. i wasn't able to display it safely so i passed it on to another collector. i have always regreted letting go of it although it is where it belongs now.
