Cool tangent continuation of the tree in the last two panels. The rest of the swamp story plays out with great scenery that has a fine finish.

Early Valiant was so good, with a great mix of veteran artists and newcomers breathing life into well-written stories. Thanks for sharing this excellent page from that bygone era.
