Description

Gorgeous full page Krenkel illustration (8" x 10"). Krenkel is a true artist's artist. Totally underrated (and undervalued) if you ask me. Krenkel heavily influenced, and contributed to, Frazetta's work -- and I find a good pen and ink Krenkel every bit as mesmerizing as Frazetta's pen and ink work (other than his masterpieces). I also think of Krenkel as the bridge between fantasy artists of a generation earlier (like J. Allen St. John, who heavily influenced Krenkel) and fantasy artists of the present (like Wrightson). There is unbelievable movement in Krenkel's work -- the simplicity of his lines mask a master's hand.
