Description

I lined up this pre-convention commission with Giuseppe before he came out to Australia with the rest of the Aspen Comics group, for the Perth Supanova Expo 2015, and I am absolutely in amazement with all the extra love Giuseppe has crafted into this piece.

Originally when I was in email discussion with Giuseppe, my two final ideas were either the Dark Phoenix with a bright red flaming bird in the background, or a classic Psylocke with an oriental background and cherry blossom trees. Giuseppe came back with an overwhelmingly positive response to the latter idea, saying that he loves Psylocke and he loves oriental settings. How could I go with any other idea other than that?

I was also able to have plenty of great conversation with Giuseppe throughout the weekend, and he was a hilarious guy and very hospitable. One memorable highlight was stopping to watch him apply a white 'ink splatter' technique onto another person's commission.
Also, another big thanks to the other fine artists & folks at the Apsen Comics table, who were seriously friendly and warm.

Thanks, Claudio! I'd seen some of your SydNova pieces in the lead-up to the Perth show, and were very helpful for myself and a fellow collector in getting pieces from Steigerwald and Cafaro, respectively. So I tip my hat to you, sir :)
