DescriptionWally Wood only lived to age 54, but in that short time, he was able to have an influence on comics and comic art that is still felt today. Wood worked for Will Eisner, EC, Marvel, DC, and eventually went on to work for almost every company, at one point becoming his own publisher. Unfortunately, burdened with depression, his health faltered, and he eventually took his own life.

I've long admired this one. Congrats, Ron...I'd say yours is the right home for it.

Woody's EC art is as good as comics gets, and this cover is a prime example. Truly bravura execution by a master at his swing-for-the-bleachers peak. Big congrats!

I'd rate this one as Woody's finest EC cover for the War titles!

A fantastic Wood cover, and that's saying a lot-- plus it fits in perfect with your collecting sensibilities... another great addition to your museum quality collection!

What great emotion and movement on this thing! The shading kills, and, damn, if there isn't zip-a-tone!

Just a spectacular image by an artist in his prime creative period - no shock that it sits in your gallery!

Wood is such a master! I commented on this piece with the previous owner, but I am certainly happy to do so again. This incredible work deserves every bit of praise it receives, and THEN SOME! Love all the detail and that overhead shot. Just incredible energy in this glorious illustration. Congratulations my friend. Looks like Santa came by your place early this year!

Super cover, Ron. You can almost see some Wood in Severin's work. And vice versa. Possibly it's just the subject matter... It's just a great example. You have an amazing collection.

Congratulations on a stunning cover by one of the true comic masters! I especially like the deep black inks in the background that make the central figure pop off of the page.
