DescriptionI've always had a fondness for "Alan Ford" and the reasons why are at least three:- It's the first comic I remember I've personally bought when I was a kid (it was the #110, titled "Gommaflex", released on Aug. 1978); - It's one of the funniest series I've ever read; - It was graphically created by one of the greatest Italian comic artists of all time, the late master Roberto Raviola, best known as Magnus. He did the first 75 issues (just the pencils from the #16 on), then he came back to draw the #200. His art was unsurpassed and still is. Anyway, when I started reading the series as a kid, it was drawn by Paolo Piffarerio and Paolo Chiarini. So I'm happy with this nice page, featuring Alan Ford (the only pretty person on the page), Bob Rock (the short guy with the big nose), il Numero Uno (the grumpy old man on the wooden wheelchair), Grunf (the weird dude with big moustache) ... And the talking parrot Clodoveo! 😸 (pen & ink on artboard, roughly 7"x 10") Social/Sharing |

Nothing quite like the feeling of getting a page from one of your earliest comics. Congrats!

Awesome! I'm not sure if I see too much difference in Magnus and the Piffarerio / Chiarini team in terms of quality. Lots of great patternwork and fluid inking.

When we were young we all thought we were Alan Ford. Now unfortunately we are all il Numero Uno.

Very cool page from Alan Ford. I really appreciate you posting pages like this from Italian comics we Americans aren't exposed to. I love the design of the page here. Paolo Piffarerio and Paolo Chiarini have done a marvelous job of creating characters that all have very distinctive looks. I especially love the look of the evil guy in the top panel with the parrot and the detective character with his Sherlock Holmes type hat in the bottom panel. Thanks for sharing!
