Zirk was created by Steve Moore (writer) and Brian Bolland (artist) in the early 1980s. It ran in the British Sci-Fi Anthology mag Warriors. I believe Brian Bolland did the art for most of the stories... Artist Garry Leach is also mentioned, but he might have been the inker for Bolland. Looking at the style of this piece, I can't tell if it's Bolland, Leach, or someone else... sorry.

Christian; Thanks much for the information, although I knew most of it. I've got most of the "Axel Pressbutton & Laser Eraser" reprints from Epic Comics. Actually Alan Moore had a hand in creating the "Pressbutton" Universe. However; the page doesn't appear anywhere in the issues I've got. I'd be stoked if it was a Bolland, and to be fair the inking is masterfull, so it wouldn't supprise me if he at least inked it. A bit of information that I picked up after turning it over. It was done on the back of an official DC page. Anyone else have a line on this? Was it ever published? Thanks Crimson

I'm pretty sure it's unpublished - inks look like it could be Mark Farmer - and he may have penciled it as well. He has only penciled a handful of pages but it looks very close

Sean, Thanks so much for that info. I'll have to look up more of his work, as I recognize the name, but not why I do. For some reason the page has a bit of a Dave Stevens look and feel to it to me, which is part of it's charm. The inking on it is so amazingly tight that I'm at a loss for words. Plus it's nice to see Zirk finally find some love. Thanks again, Crimson Sean Price wrote: I'm pretty sure it's unpublished - inks look like it could be Mark Farmer - and he may have penciled it as well. Id put money on it being Mark Farmer's Inks but its 100% not Bolland and pretty sure its not Garry Leach, reminds me alot of Mark's inking around the mid 80's. I'm currently working my way through all the Laser Eraser books right now the page might show up there ?

Ok now have the total lowdown on the page ;) Was originally meant to be the strip for #7 of Laser Eraser and Pressbutton but was canceled before completion, pages 1-3 were penciled by Mike Collins 4-7 by Mark Farmer, Mark then inked and finished it even after the series was killed. You now owe me a cookie ;)
