Description

A fantastic Deadman pin up by master storyteller if too rare Bret Blevins.

At the begining of the internet days, I fondly remember finding this amazing online gallery in which the owner displayed his fantastic Deadman collection with tons of pieces by the comic industry luminaries. Years later, said owner deciced to sell his collection and I ended up with some exemples, either directly from him or first hand buyers.

This was always one of my favorite. Mr Blevins original work is rare, published work or not so I'm delighted to add such a great exemple of his talent to my collection.

The pose is excellent and telling of the conflicted nature of the character, how he suffers from his condition. The glowing effect around his body is a very nice touch to display the spectral/after-life aspect of the character. All of these elements make for great storytelling in a "simple" pin up.

The execution is beautiful, done in colored pencils on colored paper, something which was commonly used at the time the piece was produced.

Doesn't matter the medium, Blevins can do it all. Gorgeous.

Hey yeah. The Deadman site was mine, and I remembering commissioning this from Bret. Super nice guy. Fun seeing this and some of the others again!
