DescriptionMy 400th cover posted on CAF !!!I'm very excited to share this amazing Mike Zeck Captain America cover. Years ago I owned a really nice '80s Zeck Cap cover, but I ended up trading it away. Although I got some great pieces in return (that are still in my collection), ever since then I have been on the lookout for another one. I just love this battle image. It's Cap versus one of his biggest villains, shield front-side up, complete with Kirby Crackle !! Thanks Tom! And thank you to everyone who has visited my CAF since I posted my very first piece way back in 2012. I really appreciate all the comments too !! Social/Sharing |

This is my favorite Zeck Cap cover ever and definitely one of the best of the best! I was unsuccessful in my attempts to acquire it from the previous owner, but I'm so happy for you that you succeeded where I failed! Huge congrats man!

WHOA!!!!! When it comes to Zeck, a vintage Punisher or Cap cover is the cream of the crop. And this is one badass Cap cover! Huge congratulations my friend.

Well, since you mentioned it James, Paul DID attend the University of Michigan, so that's not an unreasonable analogy! Congrats on acquiring this cover, Paul, I know you've been wanting to replace your previous Zeck Cap cover for a long time now. You'd have been hard pressed to pick up a cooler example. Congrats on this being your 400th!

Yikes! Your 400th cover! Makes the rest of us look like pikers! Oh well, congrats on this incredible acquisition. Gorgeous piece by Zeck. His work on Captain America is stunning. And this cover is among his very best! Sincere congratulations. And sincere jealously as well. ;-)

Wooooo!!! Ric Flair exclamation to ring in cover 400! No better piece you could've picked up and posted, man, to celebrate the milestone! This truly is one of Zeck's best images, not only from the Cap run, but in general. A classic and dynamic hero vs. villain faceoff, and against one of his key baddies in BVS! Love the Beatty inks - so so dark, and clean. Also nice to have a little zipatone accenting on that shield :) And look at that Kirby Krackle and Tech for days! Yup, this one truly does have it all, as they say. Big, big congrats, Paul - you know I love me some Zeck!

Kirby Krackle! Zeck Cap work was amazing, and this cover is amongst his coolest. I remember and loved this cover, with all that crackling energy. Another cool one, Paul! Big congrats!

I don't do marvel!! Well except for Captain America. This is literally the only marvel character I love . Not to mention nobody and I mean nobody draws him like Mike Zack. Damn look at this cover! Wowzer!!!!

A real jaw-dropper, this was one of my most memorable back-issue Cap covers from my early years in comics. For some reason, this one always seemed extra chilling and sinister. Congrats!
