DescriptionAs a fan of Max’s work, I’d been eyeing these three pages on Splash Page Art for a few years. Now that I have them, I’m not sure why I resisted the urge for so long. After all, who doesn’t love a good page (or three) of Hulk smashing.I love Max’s storytelling choices on this page. Especially his decision to juxtapose the massive figure in panel 2 with the small, silhouetted images of Hulk in panels 1 and 3. Coupled with his choice to go borderless in panel 2, it really heightens the destructive impact of Hulk’s landing. It’s also nice to get this one in conjunction with page 6 that follows. Interspersing the Hulk’s rage with the mundane act of a phone call on those two pages really amplifies the bedlam of Hulk’s rampage. Social/Sharing |
