Description

Author Rainbow Rowell recently kicked off a new She-Hulk title, and I've been very pleased to see her bring back many of the cast from Dan Slott's She-Hulk run from the mid-2000s.

These Rowell penned adventures of Shulkie made me nostalgic for those great Slott stories. Since Paul shared penciling duties with Juan Bobillo on Slott's initial series, I reached out to him to see if he had any pages left from his time on the book.

As luck would have it, he recently turned up a handful he hadn't yet put up for sale. And, fortunately for me, two of them spotlighted Awesome Andy, the emancipated android created by the Mad Thinker. Andy was a huge part of Slott's supporting cast and brought a lot of heart and humor to the book. So, I was more than happy to take the two available Andy pages off Paul's hands.

This particular page features Andy getting up and making his way into the law offices of Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg, & Holliway, and features a blink and you'll miss it cameo from Jack Black of all people. As the opening page of the issue, I love that the creative team spent the time, and panels, to show us Andy's routine. It gives new readers a chance to quickly get to know Andy as the good-natured being he is.

As an aside, I've been a fan of Paul's since the mid-90s and his work always looks best when they receive the clean lines they deserve. That hasn't always been the case in recent years, IMHO, but Roland Paris does a nice job of it here.
