DescriptionAmazing Spider-Man vol. 1 # 186 Page 14. November, 1978Appearing in "Chaos Is -- the Chameleon" Editor-In-Chief...................... Jim Shooter Cover Artist........................... Keith Pollard ............................................. Gaspar Saladino Writers................................. Marv Wolfman Pencillers.............................. Keith Pollard Inker..................................... Mike Esposito Colourists............................. Marie Severin Letterers............................... Jim Novak Editors.................................. Marv Wolfman D.A. Towers tells Spider-Man that all charges against him have been dropped and that he is no longer wanted by the police. But during a press conference, the Chameleon tries to discredit Spider-Man – to the general public, Spider-Man seems to be hitting an elderly woman. The plan is foiled, however, and Flash Thompson convinces the crowd in Central Park to give Spider-Man a proper recognition and celebration. But everyone isn't too happy about this: J. Jonah Jameson is furious... And a mysterious character in a lab in Westchester swears that he will kill Spider-Man. This comic also has the added personal value that matches issue # 1 published in Spain by Forum in 1983, one of the first Spider-man comic I read in my childhood. ************************* COMMENTS: One of the most fun things about a series like Amazing Spider-Man are the continuity years and the many characters that authors can use to create interesting plots and engage the reader. During the early years of the character, one of the arguments that took over the reader in suspense was the murder charges to Spider-Man for the death of Captain Stacy and Norman Osborn / The Green Goblin. It is in this Amazing Spider-Man # 186 when Spider-Man is exonerated for those crimes, particularly in this scene. Because of this we are dealing with a historical scene, a before and an after, a border. We went from a dark time when Peter lost many of their own (and also was charged for it), to a much brighter, culminating with the arrival of Roger Strern and a very young John Romita Jr. at the controls of the spider-series. In the graphic, an unknown Keith Pollard was chosen for this historic moment. The artist responds professionally with order, even paying homage to the legendary Gil Kane and Ross Andru in flashbacks of the page (Amazing Spider-Man # 90 and 122, respectively). In essence, a moment that marked a new beginning for Spider-Man and deserves to be considered a classic late 70's. A stalwart member of the Marvel bullpen in the 70s and 80s, Pollard got his break on Amazing Spider-Man #186. Here we see Spidey dropping in on District Attorney Blake Tower hoping to clear his name only to discover that he has already been cleared of the charges for the deaths of Norman Osborn and Capt. George Stacy. "Doing Spider-Man was the one I wanted to work on the most." Pollard said in an interview. "From there it was Fantastic Four, Thor, and they were all favorites of mine. Iron Man was another. I stayed with Marvel well into the late '80s. I had a brief stint at DC somewhere in that period. by the 90s I was basically doing independent work with various companies I can't even remember." Social/Sharing |

Casi nada. Felicidades.
