Description

1965 gouache cover painting by Fratini. Wonderfully macabre and much better Fontana (English) cover than the US Viking cover from 1963. My wife bought me this as a surprise for my 60th. She's a keeper! Thanks, Mitch, for treating her so well.

Very effective painting that works beautifully! The additional photo of the opened-up package displays the same craft knife I use for slicing apart taped edges ;)

Oh man, I love this illustration. I'm a sucker for paperback art from the the '50s and '60s. I don't know Renato Fratino, but I love his style here. The '60s hairstyle and the large teddy bear--Gorgeous! Great find, congrats!
